Here's another fun way to remember to eat your veggies (and fruits). It's Julieanna Hever's Plant-based Pyramid which you can purchase for your refrigerator. She is a strong advocate for eating a plant-based diet for optimum health and weight loss in addition to being an author, columnist, radio and TV personality and consultant. It's great to see another champion for change in the American diet.
Notice that fruits and veggies are at the bottom and therefore, to be eaten the most and next, whole grains, then leafy and green vegetables and the least, high-fat whole foods.
A great resource for your journey to eating a plant-based diet is Julieanna's book, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Plant-Based Nutrition."
Still wondering why to eat a plant-based diet? Here are a few of the possible side effects:
*A sharper mind
*Reduced risk or prevention of certain cancers
*Improved athletic performance
*Protection against osteoporosis
*Reduced or eliminated diabetes
Jump in now if you haven't taken the plunge. I think you'll be happy you did and actually enjoy the food 🙂
