Motivation is one of the keys when it comes to controlling your food impulses and diet choices. I’ve taken on this challenge because I want to be as excited about eating healthy plant-based meals as I use to be about eating a burger and fries. Enter the motivation bowl!
Yes, I use to love a good burger and fries! I was weak (hand to brow), but now I’m fighting those urges with plant-based meals that are just as exciting. I’ve won over the long haul.
I’ve found excess fat, sugar and salt to just be too much. I remember when I cut out sugar from my coffee years ago. It tasted so weird at first and now, can’t stand sugar in my coffee.
Since salads are a large part of my diet, I try to eat one every day as is recommended by Dr. Fuhrman. I found that having the right salad bowl helps motivate me to eat one.
We have two beautiful wooden bowls measuring 10″ across. A large green salad fits just right. Add your toppings of choice like raisins, sunflower seeds (high in magnesium) or a few crumbled crackers for crunch and your taste buds are sure to spring to life. Large is the key.
We also have large ceramic bowls to mix it up.
Get yourself a bowl that you just love – ceramic, wooden – whatever you like, and see if that doesn’t help motivate you too.
Although wooden bowls can be a bit pricey, they’re worth it for your health. You can’t put a price on that!
